Worshiping & Bowing downs

Baydel:
In your worshiping and bowing downs
Be as you are!
As long as you carry
The load of your ego on your shoulders
Keep bending your back!
Learn from this inability
That's embedded in your nature:
You can't be God, be human!

17th century Indian-born Afghan poet of Mughal Court, Abdul Qader Baydel

Humility, humility, humility before God.
None of us can claim to be so evolved to say that our ego does not dictate to us, that our ego does not lead us to do wrong, or that our ego does not make us believe that we are great/good.

What is the ego?
The ego is our self as we know it, our personality, the part of us that we recognize and identify with.   The ego is driven by our needs and wants, our desires and wishes.  Our gods.  The ones we follow blindly and have difficulty letting go of.  I can't live without 'em kind of things.  Vanity, greed, arrogance and anything and everything that makes me feel good for the moment.  No deep thinking required here.

As long as we are driven by our ego we are worshiping ourselves.

This inability to be free of our ego is proof that we are mere humans... fallible, weak and inept.  How can we be free of our ego when in most cases we can't even identify it?  We have such logical explanations (excuses) for everything we do, we even justify them with great confidence.  It is much easier to be delusional.

A weak human cannot pretend to be God... his place is to honor God.  And that we can't really do as we don't know what honor is.

Honor is for the honest... and we for sure as hell are not honest, not honest with ourselves and not honest with others.
